Did you know these facts?

Junie 25, 2008 at 12:27 nm 21 Kommentaar

Since Google was unable to present me with commentary on the following e-mail, I decided to write my own and post it here:

DID YOU KNOW THESE FACTS?

I SURE DIDN’T TILL NOW

Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!

Make a personal reflection about this…..

Very interesting, read until the end…..

It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7):

‘Be not deceived; God is not mocked:  for whatsoever a man sow, that shall he also reap.

Here are some men and women who mocked God :

John Lennon (Singer):
Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:    ‘Christianity will end, it will disappear.
I do not have to argue about that. I am certain.
Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him’ (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.
Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:’God, that’s for you.’
He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be.
With an ironic tone he said:   ‘Not even God can sink it’
The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show.
He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:  ‘I don’t need your Jesus’.
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment

Bon Scott (Singer)
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
‘Don’t stop me; I’m going down all the way, down the highway to hell’.
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

Campinas (IN 2005)
In Campinas , Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend…..
The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:
‘My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.’
She responded: ‘Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, Cause Inside Here…..It’s Already Full ‘
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact.
The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer) said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.
In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.

Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

‘Jesus’

PS: If it was a joke, you would have sent it to everyone.   So are you going to have courage to send this?.

I have done my part, Jesus said

‘If you are embarrassed about me,

I will also be embarrassed about you before my father.’

You are my 8 in 8 seconds. I am not breaking this. No way!

I’M TOLD THIS WORKS!!!!! Bishop T.D. Jakes ‘8 Second Prayer.’ Just repeat this prayer and see how God moves!!
‘Lord, I love you and I need you, come into my heart, and bless me, my family, my home, and my friends, in Jesus’ name. Amen.’

Pass this message to 8 people {EXCEPT YOU AND ME}.You will receive a miracle tomorrow. I Hope that you don’t ignore and
let God bless you.

First of all, I can’t imagine that this was written by a Christian, that a disciple of Jesus would represent our loving God as such a vengeful deity (allthough I can, unfortunately, imagine that it is being forwarded by Christians.)

Even in the Old Testament, when God decides to punish His people, it is done with sadness, in love. (Hosea 11:8 How can I give you up, O Ephraim! How can I hand you over, O Israel! How can I make you like Admah! How can I treat you like Zeboiim! My heart recoils within me, my compassion grows warm and tender.)

In the New Testament we get to know God as a God of second chances, of much grace and love.

Paul, who persecuted Jesus’ followers – and, by implication, Jesus Himself (Acts 9:5  And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting;) – was forgiven, saved and called.  He became the greatest missionary of all times.

Peter, who denied Jesus three times (Luke 22), became the rock on whom Jesus built His church (Matt 18:18).

And what about Jesus Himself?  Jesus was mocked, beaten, tortured, crucified.  His reaction to this humiliation?  “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)

Jesus said things like:

Matt 5:11  “Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.”
Matt 5:38  “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39  But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; 40  and if any one would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; 41 and if any one forces
you to go one mile, go with him two miles.
Matt 5:44  But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

As Christians, we have no reason to expect that the world won’t say anything bad about us or our God:

1 Cor 4:12   When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure;
1 Tess 3:3  We did not want any of you to lose heart at the troubles you were going through, but to realize that we must expect such things.

John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” God loves everybody – even those who blaspheme against them (which makes their blasphemy so sad).

The problem, of course, is that these kind of e-mails aren’t just innocent.  It is not going to convince anyone to serve – much less love – God.  In fact, it is going to repulse unbelievers away from God.  Worst of all is that it is a false representation of God!  In a way, one can understand when unbelievers blaspheme, since they do not know God.  I think it is a much greater blasphemy when His own children spread lies about their loving Father.

This is not to mention the superstition inherent in chainmail.  Superstition is per definition unbelief.  God cannot be manipulated, not even with “8 in 8” formulas.  Miracles are God’s to give as He pleases, not ours to force via e-mail.

lol @ boerinballingskap. i’m not saying that God won’t remove people from certain positions or places, simply that he is not vengeful.

there are several holes in the entire theory of mocking God will get you dead. But lets just look through the John Lennon theory.
Lennon didn’t make that comment to an American magazine it was printed in the London Evening Standard and then re-printed out of context in America 5 months later. And Lennon was actually deploring the fact that more people knew of the Beatles then of Christianity. Also he was shot in 1980, 14 years after making the statement and he was shot 4 times not 6. The whole thing is weak really.

(Hand 5:1-11) My Life Application Bible verduidelik dit so: Some read the account of A and S being struck down and accuse God being harsh, thinking God was supposed to be loving and forgiving and all that wrath stuff was for the Old Testament. With an emphasis on grace and mercy, ti’s easy to overlook the equally important truth of God’s holiness. We must remember that God has not changed (Mal 3:6). He still hates sin as much as He ever did. God’s judgement on Ananias and Sapphira produced shock and fear among the believers, making them realize how seriously God regards sin in the church.

I got this and couldnt believe such a thing being passes. I first of all can easily believe a christian could of writen this as well as not.
I was raised with the theory ya stay in line or God would strike you down. Course as I came of age and lived and seen others live this life I completely doubt a greater force guiding us. If there is and this is love I really don’t want to see punnishment.

So whoever wrote or publishes this why isn’t your God doing good? Why would a loving God take all the lives of the passangers of the titanic for the engineers comments? Why would he take any of these lives insted of having them learn of him and become his deciples?

Everyone should believe what they want , but if your going to pass stuff on behalf of the bible or an entire faith get it right before you send it to my email please.

As for the email and it’s accuracy of events, possibly only the author or maybe not, would be able to say for sure.

God’s word however is true. God said his word shall not return void, it will accomplish what he pleases and prosper in what it was sent to do. If God said Be not deceived, God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he reap. God cannot lie. If you mock God and sow to the flesh, you will reap from what you did. Jesus stated in God’s word Matthew 12:36, 37

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

We can be forgiven of our missteps, although there may be consequences still, if we are truly trying to live for God through Jesus Christ, our advocate before the Father continually, and our judge when we leave this earth, but we make the call. God gave us his word, instructions on how to live. He can lead us, if we let him, to a place of worship to learn and be taught of him. Make no mistake about it, we make the call. If we mock him and don’t repent of it Hebrews 10:31 states IT IS A FEARFUL THING TO FALL INTO THE HANDS OF THE LIVING GOD.

If we draw nigh to God, he will draw nigh to us. If we humble ourselves in God’s sight, he will lift us up.

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

If the Bible says that the Bible is true, it doesn’t mean it is. Just like when I say I’m king of the world, it doesn’t mean I am. There is nothing to fear. The government wants you to be afraid to control you. There is nothing out there. You’re atoms and you will just stop existing when you die. No big deal.

I agree that the facts are incorrect because I have researched information on some of the deaths listed in the email. I also agree with those who have stated that this is not the way to do it. God is not a God of fear but He is a true God. If He did not exist we would not feel guilty about anything bad that we do because ultimately we only care what other people think of us to a certain extent and for short periods of time but we become convicted of things that we do wrong because we know within ourselves, whether we want to admit that today or tomorrow, that there is a higher standard that is we are held accountable to and that higher standard is God. He showed us the way and we have to walk it out. Not with condemnation but with faith every single step of the way. He is a God of love and does not take pleasure in the death of people, though the Bible does say that He will not be mocked, whatever a man sows he reaps. And for the one who said “If I say that I’m king of the world that doesn’t mean that I am” you are right but if and when you accept Christ you are able to be a king in His kingdom because He is king of kings and Lord of lords which means that His children are kings and lords and He is our Father.

    John Lennon

Claim: John Lennon said, “Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about it. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him.” Lennon, after saying the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

    The Truth:

In August 1966, just five months later, John Lennon apologised for his statement and said, “I’m sorry I opened my mouth. I’m not anti-God, anti-Christ, or anti-religion. I wasn’t knocking it or putting it down.. I’m not saying that we’re better or greater, or comparing us with Jesus Christ as a person or God as a thing or whatever it is. I just said what I said and it was wrong.”

Lennon’s apology was accepted by the Vatican who officially forgave his remarks.

John Lennon was shot dead in 1980. If God killed John Lennon 14 years after his ‘Jesus’ quote, for which Lennon apologised, then “God” must be very vindictive.

John Lennon also said, “I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It’s just that the translations have gone wrong.”

    Tancredo Neves, president of Brazil

Claim: Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil): During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his
party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made
    President, then he died.

    The Truth:

The quote by President Trancredo Neves is a myth. There is no evidence he ever said it. There were not 500,000 votes in that election. Only a maximum of 686 votes were cast, of which Neves got 480. In any event, Tancredo Neves died at the age of 75. That’s five years more than the Biblical promise of three score years and ten.

PS Robert Mugabe, the despotic President of Zimbabwe, said, “Only God can remove me from power.” Mugabe has been president of Zimbabwe since 1980 and he is still in power.

The wife of Mugabe’s main rival, Morgan Tsvangirai, died in a car accident on 10th March 2009. Susan Tsvangirai was a devout Christian and church goer. There are no reports of her ever mocking God. Mugabe described her death as, “the hand of God”.

would be. With an ironic tone he said, “Not even God can sink it.” The result: I think you know what happened to the
    Titanic.

    The Truth:

This is a myth, a made-up story. For starters, there was no one man who built The Titanic. It was never claimed to be totally unsinkable, only designed to be unsinkable “as far as it is possible to do”. The story above comes from fiction.

Even if the claimed story was true, when the Titanic was launched by Mrs Joseph Bruce Ismay on 31 May 1911, she
uttered, “I name this ship the Titanic, and may God bless her and all who sail in her.” The crowds at the dockside cheered and exclaimed, “God speed!” Aboard the Titanic, were many devout Christians and the ship had its own church and services on board.

If God sunk the Titanic, killing more than 1,500 innocent passengers and crew, just because one man claimed
that God couldn’t sink her, then “God” must be very nasty, vindictive and punishing.

    The Truth:

It’s true he did sing this song and he did die.

The AC/DC band, who performed the ‘Highway to Hell’ song with Scott, launched a new song just five months after he died. It became the second best-selling album in history. The band continues to do well and has sold over 200 million records worldwide.

written. In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

    The Truth:

Christine Hewitt did apparently say this about the Bible. However, she was murdered by criminals almost certainly for other reasons than her Bible statement. Or does God hire criminals to do his work? The criminals have not been caught or punished.

PS In the same year that Christine Hewitt was murdered, 1,600 others were killed in Jamaica. Many of them were devout Christians. The majority of Jamaicans are Christians. Despite this, Jamaica is described as, “the murder capital of the world”.
